December 5: Get the latest on reporting requirements
for paid family/medical leave

The state department responsible for overseeing the new Paid Family & Medical Leave program is close to having all the kinks worked out of its online reporting system. As of this email, there are only two known active technical issues that are preventing some employers from reporting their data. In addition to the technical issues, there is also a hidden cost to employers in the time involved to gather all the needed information and accurately report it in the required format.
To aid employers, AGC is partnering with the Yakima County Development Association to host a training seminar presented by AGC member HUB International.
Final details are being worked out for our morning start time, but save the date for the morning of December 5 for this important workshop. If you're interested in attending, please email me and I will get you on the list.
WSDOT offers training in partnering, conflict resolution
WSDOT
, in conjunction with AGC of Washington and RHA, LLC, is offering partnering and conflict-resolution training for WSDOT staff and contractor personnel involved in the administration of construction contracts. Sessions are now scheduled in Wenatchee (Jan. 28) as well as in Kent (Jan. 29 and Jan. 30).
The concept of partnering on construction projects has been around since the early 1990s and embraces the principles of trust and open communications; resolving issues and problems promptly and at the lowest possible level; developing solutions that are agreeable and meet the needs of everyone involved (win-win approach) and more.
